How does the program work?
The Deadly Kindies Program is based in Queensland at locations near participating clinics and aims to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children attending kindergarten.
The Deadly Kindies program provides a Deadly Kindies Kit to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander little ones who are up to date with their 715 Health Check and are enrolled in any Queensland Government approved kindy.
Deadly Kindies Kits are available from participating medical clinics.

How to get kits
Deadly Kindies Kits are available from participating clinics
To be eligible for a Deadly Kindies Kit, children need to be up to date with their 715 Health Check plus they need to be able to provide evidence to their local participating clinic that they are enrolled in any Queensland Government approved kindy. Evidence can include:
- A kindy fee statement
- Confirmation of enrolment letter
If both the 715 Health Check and kindy enrolment requirements are satisfied, parents or carers can pick up a free Deadly Kindies Kit from their local participating clinic.
What’s in the kit?
The free Deadly Kindies Kit includes items that little ones will need for a great start at Kindy, including:
Sun safe hat
Backpack
Water bottle
Lunch Box
Sheet
Deadly Kindies shirt
The Deadly Kindies team at IUIH has developed a number of resources available for Educators to use at your service.
